Halloween Controversy
Halloween celebration occurs mostly in Western World, popular across the globe, especially in Eastern Europe Asian such as Japan and China. Before costumes, trick or treating, watching scary movies came before this time in history. Halloween used to be just a fun way of celebrations.
However, in the Celtic origins, Halloween was traced back to the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain-pronounced ‘sow-in’ in Gaelic language. The event marked the end of harvest and beginning of winter in Ireland. The first day of November marked the ancient Celts new year. Samhain then separated the spiritual and real world. Halloween became associated with appearance of spirits, fairies, and ghosts from the mythical ‘Otherworld.’
Celts were used to honor and worship their ancestors. Celts dressed their children as demons to confuse evil spirits and marked doors with animal blood to deter unwanted visitors,’
Then archaeological evidence showed animal as well as human sacrifices made during Samhain to honor dead and Celtic Gods, Bonfires were mad part of worshiping if Celtic deities. These honored ancestors and evil spirits.
Roman forces of Celtic territory by 43 AD in Northern France and British Isles festivals assimilated with pagan celebrations. Many other references to this day were formed. In the 9th century AD Christianity began to associate old pagan rituals, Pope Gregory VI named it “All Hallows day or All Saints Day.” It would fall on October 31’st as we call it Halloween day. At this point of the controversary, I would like to define “Pegan” according to (Dictionay.com) Pagan is a historical context one of people or community observing a polytheistic religion, as the ancient Romans and Greeks. They worship nature or the earth a neopagan. They are not a Christian, Jew, or Muslim, the person is considered a irreligious of hedonistic person, an uncivilized or undelighted person. The point is that they don’t serve the God, Father, Son that we Christians do.
Some scriptures about what it says regarding Halloween. Although the word Halloween is not written in the Bible, the definitive meaning of this celebration is.
Scriptures:
Ephesians 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful wors of darkness, us rather reprove them.
Ephesians 4:27
Neither give place to the devil.
1 Corinthians 10:21
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils ye cannot be partakers of the table of devils.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary is the devil, as a roaring lion, walking about, seeking whom he may devour.
Acts 19:13—20
Then certain of the vagabond Jew, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul Preacheth.
1John 5:10
And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
Isaiah 5:20
Wow unto them that call evil good, and good evil, that put darkness for light and light for darkness that put butter sweet, and sweet for bitter!
2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?
Our children learn from us, and we are not to be followers of evil, witchcraft, worship demonic spirits, or practice exorcist and demonic sacrifices.
God clearly state we cannot be unevenly yoked with evil spirits and say are serving God and evil as the same God. We must choose only one master at the same time. We can’t eat with devils and the Lord’s table.
Clearly scriptures clarify the wicked Ritual in way back times that are not of God. What will you decide about Halloween? It is my opinion after researching Gods Word, That Halloween is sinful, dark, evil to follow as a non-Christian holiday.
